My grandmother Mrs Delia O'Keeffe told me the signs of the weather. She said it is a great sign of the weather to see the cat sitting down on the hearth with her back turned to the fire washing her face it is a sign the weather will be bad.
She said if you see a dog eating grass it is a sign the weather will be bad. She said the birds are a good sign of the weather.
The mag is a sign of the weather. If you see a single mag it is a sign the weather will be bad for if the weather is going to be bad one of the mags goes out seeking food and the other mag stays on the nest at home. The sea-gulls are another sign(continues on next page)- Collector
