- Long ago when doctors were unknown the people of Ireland looked upon certain people as being able to cure diseases, these people usually got their cures from wild herbs such as the "Bannician, Macandháhoun," wild-carrot, yarra, sowsaddle, "Cosaramháin" and red leaf.
Sowsaddle is used for dyeing purposes, it is boiled in water and it is used for barking the clothes, because it is supposed to make the clothes take the dye better. The yarra is for rheumatism and it contains a red and white blossom. It is picked and(continues on next page)- Collector
