    Numerous customs still cling to the newly married couple, some of them which have been passed down for generations.

    bread over her. This is done so that she shall have plenty throughout her life in her new home.
    "Matches" are common especially in country places. Girls - chiefly farmer's daughters are expected to marry men because of their money but this is fast dying out. In some cases stories are told of the husband being ccruel and the woman usually runs away.
    The reception is usually held in the bride's home where all the friends assemble. It is sometimes considered unlucky to hold a dance after the bride has departed on her honeymoon.
