    When Jesus was dying on the Cross the Robin came and picked one of the thorns of of His head. While it was doing so, a drop of the Sacred Blood fell on its breast and all the Robins ever since have red-breasts.
    It is also said that when the Jews had buried Our lord, they had a great feast. They had a cock down boiling. One of the Jews said, He has no more chance of rising than that cock down boiling.
    Immediately the cock which was boiling stood up at the top of the pot and crew three times
