- Long ago, fairs were very few. When they were held, they lasted a week. It is in cities they were held in early ages. But now we have fairs in towns and villages as well as in cities. Fairs are held every month. This is the way in which they make the bargain.
A buyer comes up to a seller and asks the amount of money he wants for his beast. The seller asks "so-much". The buyer asks him to lessen it. A friend or neighbour comes up and helps them to make the bargain and "split the difference". When the buyer has the beast bought he marks him with raddle, tar, puddle or with the(continues on next page)- Collector
