The principal days for holding fairs are:- the 30th March, 10th May, "Michaelmus Day" and 1st November.
Long ago, fairs were great places for faction fights. Faction fighters would come to the fair, armed with ash plants. The most commonly-known faction fighters were, Hennesseys, Purtils and Reidys. All this is stopped now because the people are getting more civilised.
