- There is an old castle about half a mile to the east of Ballynacally named Dangan. A Certain man from near the place dreamt that there was gold buried under a certain clump of rushes near the castle.
He decided to get the gold so he told three of his neighbours about his dream. The four of them set out on a certain night carrying with them spades, shovels and pickaxes. After a short time digging they came on a flag. They were about to lift it when suddenly a great storm arose and thunder and lightening came. They were chased by a fierce looking sheep with five legs. They went home quickly and never came to look for the gold again.- Collector
