    My course to the South I did steer.
    When a charming young maid tall and slender,
    I met near the town of Dunleer.

    I stood in extreme constenation
    At length a few words I did say
    "Bright angel, is your appellation
    The matchless sweet Goddess of May
    Have you from Parnessus descended.
    In this smiling time of the year.
    To rove through those groves that extended,
    All around the sweet "town of Dunleer"
