    It is of a public meeting held in
    Athboy town,
    To elect a counciler to pull the
    taxes down,
    Two candicates were selected on that
    very day,
    One was William Kiernan and the
    other Mac Veagh
    And Mac Veagh's supporters did
    loudly for him cheer,
    With their stomachs lined with
    whiskey to make their voices clear.
    Now I think it's wrong for people
    to vote for such a man.
