I own that he loved this young
dame,
But as long as my name is
Jack Farrell
I'll never love Nellie again A Local Song
“It is of a public meeting hold in Athboy town”
It is of a public meeting held in
Athboy town,
To elect a counciler to pull the
taxes down,
Two candicates were selected on that
very day,
One was William Kiernan and the
other Mac Veagh
And Mac Veagh's supporters did
loudly for him cheer,
With their stomachs lined with
whiskey to make their voices clear.
Now I think it's wrong for people
to vote for such a man.
