  1. We have a four cow churn at home. It is wide at the bottom and narrow above the centre, and it is splayed at the mouth. We have it year. The parts are the crib, the lid, the dash, and the Joggler. The churning is done twice week in Summer and once in Winter
    If a stranger came in during the churning he would take a "brash" and day God bless the work".
    It takes from forty minutes to an hour to do the churning.
    It is done by the hand up and down.
    Warm water is poured on to put the milk to a certain heat.
    When that is done it is rocked. The butter is lifted out with a trencher and made into prints and rolls with "spades"
