  1. In the townland of Breslanstown, there are ruins of a very ancient castle.
    It was said that, long ago, this castle was very beautiful and very large.
    I have heard that it was destroyed during some of the wars in Ireland, so these ruins must be very old. I was told by some of the neighbours that there was a very dark dungeon in it and some of the inhabitants hid in this dark dungeon and were starved to death.
    Nothing now remains but the old walls covered with ivy.
