  1. Local Song (continued)

It been in October the year of 68, we had a fine hunt in Colonel Maddens estate.

    (continued from previous page)
Bushell he's at home he'll protect you this day
When the hounds they come up I will send them astray.
    Chorus:
    VI
When the hounds they come up they were at a loss for a while
But Rocksy and Gipay hit her off in great stile.
The sportsmen from Newtown laughed and cheered their fill.
To see Rocksy and Gipay going over the hill
    Chorus:
    VII
The hare began doubling and trebling around
She thought by her stratagems she would mislead the hounds
She says to herself I will lie down again
And my life I'll depend to you Tom Mc Clean
    Chorus:
    VII
When Mc Clean he came up he says the hare she has lain down
We'll draw off our dogs and we'll head for Newtown
Oh no say Greddon that never will do.
We'll rise her again to give Gaynor a view.
    VIII
Its out be spoke Jostler he do them did say
In honour of my master "Ill show you the way"
There is not in Killafoate or in all Aughnaloo
