The robin builds her nest in a hole in a ditch or sometimes in a hole in a tree. This is how the robin got her red breast:- when our Lord was dying on the cross the robin took one of the thorns off our Lord's head and in doing so a tiny drop of the blood went on his breast and ever since all the robins in the world have red breasts.
The wren builds his nest in an old house, she lays from eighteen to twenty eggs. Her nest is made of moss, and there is a very small hole in the side of it. The eggs are very small and their colour is white.- Collector
