- The people long ago had cures for every ill. They were better than the doctors that are there now. There was a man there once and he had a very sore toe and it was rotting. He had many doctors tried and he used get bottles from them but they were no good. So one day he went in to a house and there was an old woman inside and he told her about it. She told him to wash it in salt and water. He did so and the toe got all right after nine days. They used have a cure for the calf also. They used make some kind of a(continues on next page)
