  1. Keelmicada is a very ancient church and lies in the southern slopes of Kerryhead in the parish of Ballyheigue. The father of St. Erc was Deaghadh, and this church, it is believed, bears the family name of Erc hence it is called 'Church of son Deaghadh' in other words the church of Erc. Near by there is a holy well, and it is in the same name as the church. For many years a round stone was faithfully preserved by a family in the neighbourhood the Corridons. The use of
