  1. There were many poets in this district long ago but their poetry was never written into books.
    Once Kerry was playing Wexford and a poem was made about them. It says: "Lawlor then was on the ball, a man of might and grit,
    And with the kick he gave it,
    He drove it through the net.
    The cheering for his gallant name
    The like was never known
    Since Sarsfield called the Lawlors, to his aid at Garryowen."
