Folklore 23:5: 38
Long ago they had no ploughs nor harrows and the people had to dig with spades. They had no machines to cut hay or corn ,and they had to reap and cut with scythes.
They had no spraying machines so they used get a thick bunch of heather and a bucket and sprinkle the spray on the stalks. They had no cars to bring anything but mats and cleeves on the horses back.- Collector
