- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)went into the kitchen, and, when the coast was clear, they took the chickens out of the pot, and took 'em out and hid 'em. They got a pair of ould boots and put them outs the pot in place of the chickens.
All went well, 'til the women of the house come along to see if the chickens were cooked. She stuck a fork down into the pot, but she said they weren't cooked yet.
After awhile she come back again and tried. This time the fork stuck in the lace hole, and up comes an ould boot. The two boyo's were amazed but the woman was fit to be tired and the lot had to clear be damned out of the place.
The two boys took a leg each of the chicken and left the rest on the window still.
