“A short time ago it was rumoured that a woman was dead...”
A short time ago it was rumoured that a woman was dead in Ambrosetown.
Mrs. Devereux was her name
A couple of women came to the wake, and they met Pat Devereux in the yard - that's her husband.
They sympathised with him, and said they were sorry for his trouble. Then they found out the woman wasn't dead at all.
"Musha", said Pat "maybe if youz will wait another week we might oblige yez with a wake.
