There are many old stories attached to these forts. The old people say that many people were set a stray that did anything to the fairies on their forts.
There was a grand-uncle of mine set astray with the fairies one night as he crossed before them on their way to a fort. It is supposed that it was the fairy folk who built these fonts. It is thought that the fairies are the Danes who were in Ireland long ago and when they were been driven out of Ireland they built these forts as hiding places. Wiltd cats are always seen around or at these forts.
