- Along the main road about half a mile from the town of Ballinamuck there is a place known yet as "Quigley's bush". It got this name because a man named Quigley was got dead under it about forty years ago. From the time he died people were terrified by seeing a ghost at the spot after night. Indeed so frightened had they become that not one would pass the spot after night.
Sometimes the ghost took the form of a very little old man and at other times a very tiny woman and again a very big dog. Some even found themselves clutched by an icy hand. Many a story I could tell about things seen at the same bush but the one I am going to tell now is what happened to my grandfather and on another occasion what happened to my(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
