    father. My grandfather was returning home one night late from Longford. Business detained him longer than he expected. Just as he was going by the bush out stepped a little woman. My father was riding a horse and she came just beside his foot in the stirrup. He said she was no higher than his foot. She kept trotting beside the horse until they came to a running stream and then she disappeared. My grandmother told me the story and she said my poor grandfather was in such a frightful state when he came home that he put the horse into the stable harness and all and was afraid to go out to give him food or look after him until morning.
    Another time my father who was learning the mason trade with his uncle was returning from his work in company with the same uncle. Their way led past the haunted place. Suddenly my father felt his arm clutched by his uncle. "What is wrong" said my father
