- Paddy McGee of Owenbeg was supposed to be the best singer in the parishes of Easkey, Kilmacshalgan and Templeboy. He won prises at 'Feiseanna' all over the country for his singing. Once he went to a 'Feis' in Sligo and he won two first prizes there. On his way home he met fairies and they brought him him into their fort. They told Paddy that they heard he is a great singer and they got him to sing for them. He sang for an hour or so and then he stopped. At mid-night the fairy-queen asked Paddy to sing, but he refused as he was tired. The Queen got angry and she said that he would never be able to sing and he never was.
