- Weather Lore In Ireland there are many signs which foretell weather. If the sun is red when it is setting we will have good weather and if it is pale or if it goes down in a bank of clouds we will have rain. If there is a halo around the moon it is a sign of bad weather. If the stars are dim and seem to fall we will have rain.
If the clouds are dark and move quickly it is a sign of bad weather and if the clouds are white and the sky bright is is a sign of good weather. If there is a rainbow to be seen at night it is a sign of good weather and if there is a rainbow in the day it is a sign of showery weather.
