  1. St Brigid is supposed to have stayed one night in a monastery in Modeshill and is supposed to have passed over the little bridge in Mullinahone (between the Square and Killaghy St.) on her way to Fethard. The bridge is known to this day as 'St Brigid's Bridge'.
