    We entered for the championship in the year 1916

    They beat Clonmel and fethard and Bansha they put down.
    And the Commons got a bad knock out from the boys of Kickham's town.
    And every time they'd win the day old women in their beds
    Would raise the latch, out through the thatch
    And shout "go on, the Reds"
