- In the year 1939 there was a terrible storm. At seven o'clock it commenced in its fury sweeping everything in it's wake. The happenings of that night are indescribable.
Several houses were set alight and burning rafters illuminated the sky and also flaming fowl such as hens and geese who were set alight in their sheds. How the buildings were set on fire is this. The wind found its way into them and scattered the fire all through the house setting it on fire.
Next morning the fishes were found out miles from the lake where they had been swept by the wind. No need to say trees were uprooted. Oats and hay were(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
