    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Timothy Brennan the Strand Walshestown was a well known poet of this locality. He had several pieces of poetry published in "The Weekly News", and the "Westmeath Examiner". One of his poems was about Loch Owel and another about the woods of Tullaghlan, the latter ran as follows
    "Dear grand old woods of Tullaghan
    The theme of song and story
    I'll rest awhile in your green shade
    And sing your Summer glory
    Three hundred years have passed
    (leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
