Teresa Mulready - There are no old stoties told locally of giants to have ever existed in my district.
On the side of the hill of Frewin in John Beirne's land there is a very large stone with the greater part of it buried in the earth. It is said to be thrown there by a giant from the hill of Knock-Ine.
About a hundred and forty years ago two men Patrick and Nicholas Gaynor who lived near Frewin were the strongest men ever in Midlands. They were well over seven feet high.
