  1. These are the most harmful weeds growing on our farm - daynettles, rushes, buachalan buidhe, scutchgrass, and blackheads. They are harmful because they spread rapidly, and because they impoverish the soil. Buachalan buidhe grows only on good land. Daynettles, rushes, scutchgrass, and blackheads grow in bad land.
    Certain herbs have medicinal properties. These are their names chickenweed, spear-grass, slanless, nettles, dockens, grounsel and dandelion.
    Chickenweed is steeped in hot water, and put on swollen parts. Spear - grass is teased like tobacco, you smell it, and it relieves a headache. Slanless is chewed and put on cuts and sores. Nettles are cut and given
