In the townland of Knockena there lived a highly respected family named Nugents and the oldest girl was at every dance for miles around her.
One night Miss Nugent and two girls of the Fitzpatrick's who were returning from a dance that was held in Kilrush and as they had a motor car the Nugent girl went to Fitzpatrick's house for tea. When the tea was over the Nugent girl left to go home and when she went outside the door she saw a big white horse approach her and immediately the girls mouth was turned back to her ear and she returned to Fitzpatrick's house and the two girls conveyed her home and she went to bed and next morning her parents were much surprised and as they had a friend a priest named Father Brown they sent for him. He came and he prayed for an hour and a half over the girl and immediately the girls mouth was as good as ever and the priest warned her to always have someone with her when she was travelling by night.
