- The names of the roads in my district are: The Old Road, Derrymore Road, Leachta Road.The Old Road is made 100 years ago. Long ago there was a man called Poddle. He used spy on the people and the priest in Ninety Eight to a man named Browne. Denis Browne had a neck name “Soap the Rope” or “Donchadh an Rópa”. He made the road for Poddle to go to town. He made it down Durlas, Cuilleen, and Lecanvey and in to Westport. Poddle was afraid to go to town the way the people went. He droped dead in his sraidh.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
