How they used make candles.
About 100 years ago every farmer used keep five or six goats and used rear the young ones.Every winter they used kill two or three chiefly to get tallow from them to show them light during the long nights.At that time there was no wax candles .They used melt the goats tallow in a piece of a broken pot called a grisset.
They had an iron mould about a foot in length .They used fix a wick of cotton thread in the centre of this mould, then they used spill the melted tallow in around the wick until the mould was full.When the tallow used cool and get firm they used take it out of the mould and in(continues on next page)- Collector
