    a girl in the coffin whom they had stolen. He said he would and he got under it.
    "What have ye in the coffin" ? he said.
    They did not answer.
    "I'll see," he said.
    "If you have the courage", they said.
    He opened the coffin and there was the girl. All the fairies ran into the fort. He took out the girl and brought her home. She died that night or else the fairies brought her.
    The next night he went to the fort and he heard them talking.
    If he is able to knock her off the eight horse when we meet him to-night we cannot take her from him they said.
    All the talk stopped them. The man kept going and he met them with ten horses. He pulled her off the horses and brought he home with him.
    After a few days he went to the fort again and he heard the
