    There were a great many landlords living around this parish long ago. The landlords owned all the land that time. They gave about an acre of bad bog land to the poor people, for which had a very big rent to pay.
    Everytime the landlords liked they would hunt the poor farmers and their families out of their house and land.
    There were no house in Killernan at that
