  1. In the year 1902 an old man died in Knockmore. He was locally known as Seán Bán. He was very old and he had a great circle of friends in different parts of the country. Hosts of them came to his funeral. Some of them came from the parish of Moygownagh which lies to the west side of Ballina.
    In those days motor-cars and even side-cars were practially unknown; and so most of the sympathisers had to come on foot. As the funeral wound its way slowly to the grave-yard of Cloghans a rather strange thing happened. As
