St. Patrick is the patron Saint of Ireland. Long ago in the days of old St. Patrick was very badly honoured by the Irish people. They used to drink and drink until they did not know whether it was the ground or the air that was carrying them. Sometimes they used to smash each other and fight and kill each other. They thought they were honouring him as best they could. All that class of unholy work was and is called, “drowning the shamrock”.
