  1. Travellers went around long ago from house to house in this district. There was an old woman who used to call at my grandmother's house for a nights lodging called Brígid na bparc. Her daughter used to be with her. She used to tell stories and tell all the news. She used to jig and step dance also. Everyone used to watch out for her and she was always welcomed whenever she came. She used to knit stockings and sell them. When she'd come she'd get a good supper and a good breakfast in the morning. She'd always get something going away. They used to put up a bed for her on the fireplace.
    There was an other old pedlar who used to go around this district called Paddy Siobáis. He used to collect rags and
