    A Story
There was a man living in Cruit a long time ago and his name was Neil Boyle, he owned a horse named Firefly who was famous for all the races that she won. Neil Boyle had got this horse at a fair in exchange for a cow in the year 1880. This great mare was only two years old at this time.
She won many notable races in different parts of the county especially at Kincasslagh, Dungloe and Maglern.
This great race-horse reared several good foals, one who was sold for ten pounds and later was taken to England and sold for one hundred and twenty pounds.
