  1. A local True Story
Song obtained from Miss Lizzie Ferris Carrowreagh, who heard her father sing it. This happened in her father's time when he would be 2 or 3 years old. Miss Ferris lived here in Carrowreagh, Bridge End, Near Burt, Co. Donegal. The boat drifted to Rathmullan near Fanat, and what ever remained of her was purchased by a "Mr Mc Clure of Fanat.
    Song
    I
It was on August 8th, the year of 42
    Bound for the English Harvest
    We bade our friends adieu
Our hearts being light and merry
    No trouble on our mind
But little we thought we ne'er would see
    The friends we left behind
    II
    The boat being overloaded
    The wing that blew severe
