  1. St Bridget's day, 1st February is the day St Bridget's cross is made. The cross is made of rushes, and they are hung up in the houses. St Patrick's day is the day the shamrocks are worn in honour of St Patrick, the shamrocks are pulled the day before. Shrove Tuesday is called "Pancake Tuesday." People put a ring or button in the pancakes and the first that gets the ring or button will be first married. On Easter Saturday children build Easter houses and make a feast.
