  1. A long time ago there were hedge schools in Ireland. The people were taught under hedges when there were no National Schools. They were taught Latin, English, Arithmetic, Euclid, and algebra. They were not let teach any Irish because the English people would not let them.
They got English books, Latin books, Algebras and Euclids to learn. The teachers were lodging in houses near by, and they got their food in the houses.
