  1. There are many birds around about where I am living. Their names are the crow, the hawk, the sparrow, the mistle thrush, the song thrush, the robin, the blackbird and the wagtail. All these stay here all the year round. The starlings stay here all the year round also. The cuckoo and the corncrake go away before winter and come back again in summer.
    All birds build nests. The blackbird builds its nest in a bush made of withered grass and lined with hair or clay. They lay five eggs. The thrush makes the same kind of nest as the blackbird.
