Then the king took a gold clew from his back and gave it to him saying if the merchant does not give you the tobacco, drop one end of the clew on the floor and he will see what he will see. The boy did as he was directed. He went to the merchant and asked for a fifty lb. roll of tobacco that will be £10 says he. I have'nt a penny in my pocket not to mind £10. "Get out said the merchant and the boy dropped the clew on the floor and he was hardly outside the door when the house was in a blaze. The King told the boy to go back and ask the merchant for the tobacco and he would save his house and the merchant gave him the tobacco and the boy took the clew from the floor and the house was saved. Then the King asked the boy what he would like to bring home. A yard of silk said the boy. It is'nt a yard but fifty yards you will take home said the King. Then he told the boy to do the same thing as before. The boy took the clew and went over to the silk merchant and asked for fifty yards of silk. That will be £10 said the merchant, ara where would I get £10 said the boy. I have not a penny in my pocket. Get out, get out said the merchant and the boy dropped the clew on the floor, and the house was on fire. Then the King told the little
