Once upon a time there was a man living in a town and very often an old piper came and stayed with him for a night. One day a lot of Jobbers came because there was to be a fair in town next day. On that night the old piper came to him looking for lodgings and the man said that he had no place for him and the piper said any place at all will do me. Then the man told him to go out into the barn and he went out. There was a cow in it and he slept in the manger. Next morning the old piper got up at six o clock and he dressed himself in his new clothes and he then put the legs of the old trousers out in boots and he went to the fair.When the man got up he went out to the barn and when he saw the trousers he thought the cow had eaten the man(continues on next page) - Collector
