One day an old woman and her child came into a house where the woman of the house was churning.

One day an old woman and her child came into a house where the woman of the house was churning.
The old woman asked for a drop of milk for her child and she was refused. The woman of the house said that she would not give her as much as would dash out of the churn. The old woman went away, but as she was going out she said - "I will have the blood of the heir to this house to-morrow."
Next day the son of the house was hunting and he fell off the horse and struck his head against the wall and was killed.
When he was killed the banshee was heard to screech so the people know that the old woman who had called in for the milk was the banshee.
