    If you leave out clothes on halloween night they will be taken by the Fairies.
    If you hear the banshee at any time there is someone going to die within the space of a day and a night.
    If you go to the well on Christmas night draw water and if you are there at 12 o'clock midnight you will draw wine from the well instead of water.
    If you go out to the stable where the cows are kept on Christmas night at 12 o'clock you will see them on their knees.
    If a child is struck with the branch of an Elder tree he will not grow for a period of three years.
    A coal of fire is put under the churn in order to keep the Fairies out and to prevent them from taking the butter from the churn.
