  1. The district I live in is Gortnalibret which means the mouth of the hungry lip. There are twenty four houses in it and four stated ones there are a hundred people living in it. The land is good in some places. This is the parish of Cluinn Clare which means Clare's little meadow. This is the Barony of lios clogher. There are eleven old people over seventy years of age. Thomas O Brien, John Mc Hugh, Mrs Mc Dermott, James Ross, Mrs Ruthaford, Michael Mac Morrow.
