  1. Most of the forts in this district are done away with but there are remains of some of them yet. There is an old one in John Mc Dermott's ground in the townland of Gortnalibret. There is a clay ditch round the circle and old withered bushes out side on the ditch. There is a cave in it and an under ground passage for about a hundred yards.
    Lights used to be seen there about fourty five years ago. As our house is not far away from the fort the lights used to come up as far as our byre.
