  1. The first thing the farmers do when they are setting the potatoes is put out manure and spread it in ridges about fifty yards long and each ridge about a yard apart. Then he cuts seed the way he cuts sed is he cuts the potato in halves then in quarters and he makes sure that he leaves an eye in each seed
    Then they drop the seed they leave each seed about nine inches apart. Next they dig the ground and turn it up on the seed with a loy.
    About in two months after he molds them with a shovel and he must make sure that he doesn't break the stalks with the shovel about in a month after he sprays them
